Status of Women: Past, Present, Future

Chancellor Cynthia Barnhart, Dean Christine Ortiz, Kamilla Tekiela, Caroline Chin and Jean Yang

October 31 @12pm. W20-307

This event will feature the first screening of the mini-documentary "MIT and the Status of Women in Science", an inspiring story of how MIT changed the approach that colleges and universities have to recruiting and promoting women in science. Produced by Emmy Nominee Joe McMaster and MIT Video, it tells the story of how the 1999 MIT Report on the Status of Women in Science came together 15 years later and through the eyes of its protagonists.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion on what are the challenges ahead for Women in Science and how we can best address them.

This event will take place during GW@MIT´s Fall Leadership Conference and is co-sponsored by GW@MIT and SWIM and Women's and Gender Studies at MIT
